Progress

Marriage equality has finally passed in Maryland's House of Delagates. And as to be expected, there are always non-supporters. Sam Arora, who coincidentally ran a marriage equality platform as a friendly candidate. voted against the bill. Even after taking calls from Bill Clinton, Terry McAuliffe, and their Governer! According to Democratic political consultant and former friend of Sam's, Karl Frisch,

"Discrimination against gay and lesbian couples is one step closer to being over in Maryland. The same can be said for Sam's career in politics."

It's mind boggling how somebody can help so much and then just do a complete backflip and turn against us. What would possibly bring him to just up and withdraw his co-sponsorship?

Meanwhile, in California, Proposition 8 (AKA the California Marriage Protection Act) has finally been voted unconstitutional. The accurate reasoning of the Supreme Court was that:

“Proposition 8 served no purpose, and had no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California,”

Viral kiss

In just a few days, this picture, photgraphed by David Lewis, has gone viral. Sgt. Brandon Morgan and his boyfriend of two months and friend of four years, Dalan Wells, are exchanging what happens to be their first kiss. Sgt. Morgan was previously deployed in Afghanistan, rendering this image to be described as, "a typical homecoming photo."

Simply Genius!

Looks like Tennessee no longer thinks that praying the gay away is enough and is trying to pass the "Don't Say Gay" bill which ban schools from talking about homosexuality until the ninth grade.

Parents have also been warned not to let their kids watch Modern Family because the gay couple on the show has somehow not sparked the apocolypse. In addition, make sure your kids don't watch Bert and Ernie because that whole sharing a twin bed thing is...well...weird...

So apparently, they think that if you don't talk about it, it doesn't exist.
Why, pray tell, has nobody thought of this sooner? It's simply genius!

Next, they'll deny homosexuality altogether in the hopes of making the entire LGBT community disappear!

A GLOBAL THREAT (funny)

Dan's Done It Again!

In the latest Iowa caucus, Rick Santorum came in second place by only 8 votes. An evangelical extremist who not only believes that abortion and same-sex marriage should be illegal, but also that birth control should be banned was this close to winning a huge chance to win the presidential election of 2012! In a 2003 interview he equated homosexual acts to incest, pedophilia, and beastiality in a single sentance. The creator of the It Gets Better Project, Dan Savage, responded to this by placing a (hilarious) Google bomb changing the definition of Santorum to have a disgusting sexual meaning.

Santorum (san-TOR-um) n.
1. The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter
that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.

This is now the first result that shows up whenever someone searches his name. Santorum *chuckle* has tried to ask Google to remove the definition, but he yeilded no results. Currently, there are 9487 people who have clicked "like" on this site for Google+.  The number continues to rise as spreadingsantorum.com continues to...well...spread.

Ignorance

It is nearly impossible to argue with a theist even the possibility that logic does allow any form of higher being to exist. They are content with being blissfully ignorant in their beliefs and do not feel that it might be neccesary to find some additional information as to whether or not they might be wrong. When I research a controversial issue, I look at both sides. Granted, I have some difficult getting passed my own biased opinions, but at least I acknowledge the possibility that I might be wrong. I just refuse to believe in anything that isn't logical or scientifically proven. When the day comes where undeniable proof is shown to me, I will gladly step down and say, "I'm sorry. I believe now." I guess that makes me almost as stubborn as they are.

Sometimes people, in order to be satisfied with themselves, need only say, "God said it. I believe it.

That settles it." How can people not realize how ignorant that seems? Martin Luther King Jr. said "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

Inspirational Advertisement

While browsing the internet, I stumbled upon something that I found to be the most inspirational thing that I've witnessed for quite some time. It has to be on of the best LGBT acceptance ads in history. See for yourself.

GetUp! in Australia released a commercial on Thanksgiving  from the viewpoint of one half of a gay relationship. It increases in suspense until that final scene that emphasizes what they want legalized-- the right for a couple of any orientation to be able to officially confess their love for another. By showing only one perspective of the couple, the video infers that a gay relationship is no different than a straight one. They don't cover the ad in rose-tinted paint making it seem like gay marriage is superior and should be idolized, but rather stress that both homosexual and heterosexual relationships have their ups and downs.

Advertisements are becoming more and more gay-friendly. I've also found a McDonald's ad that was promoting equality and acceptance with the slogan, "Come as you are."

Why haven't I seen ads like this in America?
